CLD Summit Code of Conduct

The Alagille Syndrome Alliance (ALGSA) is committed to a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that honors diversity. By registering and/or participating in the Cholestatic Liver Disease Summit, participants agree to adhere to the following Code of Conduct.

It is the policy of ALGSA and partnering organizations collaborating on this event that all participants, including attendees, faculty, exhibitors, commercial supporters, vendors, media representatives, ALGSA staff, PFIC Network staff, and BARE, Inc. staff, volunteers, and all other stakeholders participating in the Cholestatic Liver Disease Summit (virtually or in-person) (“Participants”) will conduct themselves in a professional manner that is welcoming to all Participants and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation.

Participants will treat each other with respect and consideration to create a collegial, respectful, inclusive, and professional environment during the Cholestatic Liver Disease Summit. Creating a supportive environment to enable scientific discourse at this ALGSA-hosted event is the responsibility of all Participants. We expect Participants to follow this Code of Conduct during the Cholestatic Liver Disease Summit event and associated meetings in person, online, on social media networks, and during networking.

Intellectual Property & Confidentiality Policy

The Cholestatic Liver Disease Summit is a collaborative event designed to advance knowledge in the field. All scientific, educational, and proprietary content shared or developed during the event—including presentations, discussions, data, and materials—is the intellectual property of the respective presenters, contributors, or Event Organizers.Sponsors, attendees, and affiliated organizations may not reproduce, repurpose, or create independent programs, initiatives, or commercial opportunities based on event content without explicit written consent from the Event Organizers or the content owner.

Sponsors and attendees must maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary information shared at the event that is not publicly available and may not distribute, publish, or use such information for unauthorized purposes. Unauthorized use or misappropriation of event content may result in exclusion from future events and potential legal action. Additionally, sponsors and attendees are not authorized to speak with the media on behalf of the Event Organizers and must direct all media inquiries to the Event Organizers.

By participating in the event, sponsors and attendees acknowledge and agree to adhere to this policy.

Unacceptable Behavior

Participants are expected to avoid any inappropriate actions or statements based on individual characteristics such as age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, nationality, political affiliation/beliefs, religious practices, ability status, educational background, professional position, or any other characteristic that contributes to diversity or is protected by law.

Disruptive or harassing behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassing conduct includes, but is not limited to: unlawful harassment, derogatory comments, epithets, slurs, or negative stereotyping; threatening, intimidating, or hostile acts; denigrating jokes; and written, electronic, or graphic material that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual or group.

This includes inappropriate behavior that occurs:

• During in-person or online networking and scientific programming

• Via text chat functions, Q&A sessions, or other event features

• Anywhere on the Cholestatic Liver Disease Summit platform or in person

Participants also agree not to knowingly introduce viruses, spyware, malware, or similar items (collectively, "Malware") through the platform.

Reporting Unacceptable Behavior

Violations of this Code of Conduct should be reported to the Cholestatic Liver Disease Summit planning committee at info@liverdiseasesummit.org or ALGSA at alagille@alagille.org. To the extent possible, ALGSA will endeavor to keep reporting concerns confidential; however, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Upon receiving a report of unacceptable behavior, the Cholestatic Liver Disease Summit planning committee and ALGSA’s priority will be the safety and security of Participants. Sanctions for violating this Code of Conduct may include, but are not limited to:

• Verbal and/or written warnings

• Denied access to the remainder of the Cholestatic Liver Disease Summit

• Removal from the virtual or physical space

• Notifying appropriate authorities

Retaliation for good faith complaints of inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated. Refunds will not be given if an individual is denied access to the remainder of the meeting due to inappropriate conduct.
